“I Dreamed A Dream”

It was an inspiring moment from Susan Boyle to 60 millions people around the world who watched you-tube. Amanda one of the judges said: 'How could we have missed her all these years?" Even before she sang the song, the perception from the audience were otherwise. How many times in our lives that Perceptions and misjudgment often falls on people...

The lyrics of the song:
I dreamed a dream in time gone by, When hope was high and life, worth living. I dreamed that love would never die,
I dreamed that God would be forgiving. Then I was young and unafraid, And dreams were made and used and wasted.
There was no ransom to be paid, No song unsung, no wine, untasted.
But the tigers come at night, With their voices soft as thunder,
As they tear your hope apart, And they turn your dream to shame.
He slept a summer by my side, He filled my days with endless wonder...
He took my childhood in his stride, But he was gone when autumn came!
And still I dream he'll come to me, That we will live the years together,
But there are dreams that cannot be, And there are storms we cannot weather!

I had a dream my life would be... So different from this hell I'm living,
So different now from what it seemed...
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed...

Currently the team from BOLD is running a 24 sessions workshop: HOPE is a waking Dream...in Disted College since April 18 - June14'09. The logo of DreamAdream was done by Yasu, he actually combined a picture of a little girl that Aida gave him and a drawing done by me. Seemed like a child descending down and saying goodbye or wanting to go into the rainbow circle? Its the same picture on my profile icon. Yasu erased the black background away.
Read the last line of the song I dreamed a dream : Now life has killed the dream I dreamed.... how does one puts Hope back to the waking dream? Currently the team of DAD is moving into stage3 of the workshop comprising of 22 children from special needs, children homes and mainstream.

Sharing an art piece drawn by 4 chidren in DreamAdream, title: The thirsty turtles. The journey of 4 turtles leaving the dirty pond insearch of survival.... However the colourful fish can't leave at all and seemed to have built the resiliency in this dirty pond. or rather it does not has the choice. The 4 turtles journeyed through an angry forest to reach a beach, lay eggs and moved into the sea.. far right.
This particular piece of drawing resonate in me too... am I also one of the thirsty turtles in this journey with them? The children gave the title to their art piece.
*Note the angry forest with sharp teeth trees. You are welcome to make your story...

  3. Hey there, Pris. Wah leow... your blog so "canggih". Feel so proud of you. GREAT work! Thanks for all the sharing. Looks like we have something in common. I'm currently using Susan Boyle's experience when conducting talks on MOTIVATION and INSPIRATION - you must have a dream and passion in everything you do.

  4. Hi Jo,
Gam-sia... Finally woke up from DreamaDream n now catch up on CPPD. Hope I will find my way like the thirsty turtles. My x-boss cautioned me about my passion in what i do saying "U burnt myself... sometimes have to close 1-eye la..." Great to know we have something in COMMON. M learning how to sing "I dreamed a dream.......But there are dreams that cannot be, And there are storms we cannot weather!" So i just got to be very mindful n not be caught in.
Grateful for all your help and support in DAD from April 18 - June 14 '09.
